Queer Porn Archive, CCA MFA Thesis Exhibition 2017

My work Queer Porn Archive was first exhibited at Fused Space in San Francisco, CA as part of the group show thesis exhibitions at CCA in the spring of 2017.

This work presents an archive of white magazines representing fifteen years of my photography. Inside the magazines are full-color glossy photos that range from the pornographic to the autobiographical. Visitors sat down at the table and looked at the magazines while others read the letter on the wall, which explains that a digital archive containing 15 years of queer pornography was being sent to an undisclosed location to be held safe from the Trump presidency. The hard drive, which was black stud-pattern metal and furnished by a queer porn fan/patron, was also on display but not accessible.  In the corner, plugged into the white wall of the gallery, a lone Hitachi Magic Wand Original covered in googly eyes. On the wall, a painting of Chelsea Poe and Eden Alexander doing a fetish scene on Folsom St.    This was presented in an enclosed space in order to give the visitor the experience of being inside an archive, inside a group contemporary art show.
